Porcelain tile is a type of ceramic tile, but it’s made from denser clay and fired at a higher temperature. This makes porcelain harder, less porous, and more resistant to water and staining. Ceramic is still durable and versatile, but porcelain is often the better choice for high-traffic areas, outdoor spaces, and wet environments.
We recommend purchasing your net square footage plus an additional 10% for cuts and waste. For natural stone, 15–20% is often advised due to natural variation and sorting. Buying everything at once ensures consistency in colour, shade, and lot.
Absolutely. Tile and stone are ideal for Bermuda’s humidity and heat. The key is selecting the right material and finish — typically slip-resistant porcelain or suitable natural stone — along with proper installation and waterproofing systems.
Yes! Our porcelain floor tiles can be used on any wall application, from bathrooms to backsplashes. Our wall tiles, which are ceramic, must not be used on the floor as they cannot hold up to any foot traffic.
Porcelain tile does not typically require sealing. Natural stone and unglazed tiles should be sealed to protect against moisture and staining. Grout should also be sealed. We carry sealers specifically formulated for each material.
To measure a room for square footage, use a tape measure to determine the length and width in feet, then multiply the two numbers (length x width = area).
For example, a 10-foot by 12-foot room is 120 sq. ft..
For irregular spaces, break the room into smaller rectangles, calculate the area of each, and add them together.
Consider slip resistance, size, and maintenance. Larger tiles reduce grout lines and create a clean, spacious look. Natural stone offers warmth and luxury but requires sealing and proper care. Porcelain is a low-maintenance and highly durable alternative.
Look for tiles with higher durability ratings (Class 4 or 5 for residential and light commercial use). Porcelain is often the top choice for entryways, kitchens, and commercial environments due to its strength and resistance to wear.
Yes — and it’s a great way to add visual interest. Using multiple sizes of the same tile or incorporating mosaics and borders can define spaces and create focal points. Many manufacturers even provide layout formulas for patterned installations.
Warm water and a mild, pH-neutral cleaner are usually all you need. Avoid acidic cleaners (like vinegar), bleach, or abrasive materials, as they can damage tile and grout. Regular sweeping or vacuuming helps prevent surface scratching.

Tiles can vary slightly between production runs in shade and size. Purchasing everything together ensures consistency and avoids potential mismatches if additional material is needed later.
